Sunday Coffee Hour Following Each Service
Inquirer’s Class
The Inquirer’s Series meets at 11:00am every Sunday in the church parlor. You may participate virtually on zoom. It is a rotation of 9 conversations about our church and Unitarian Universalism. The series is designed for visitors and newcomers who are looking for a general introduction to help decide if First Church would be a good match for them. New church members are encouraged to attend this first step on our Faith Forward path.

Being Mortal
Sundays 9:30 – 10:30 AM, February 5th thru April 2nd
In Being Mortal, bestselling author Atul Gawande tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Gawande, a practicing surgeon, addresses his profession’s ultimate limitation in that the goals of medicine all too often to run counter to the interest of the human spirit. Full of eye-opening research and riveting storytelling, Being Mortal shows how medicine can comfort and enhance a person’s experience at the end of life and that their last weeks or months can and should be rich and dignified.
