RESCHEDULED: Oct 30 Lecture – American Christianity and Slavery

THIS EVENT IS BEING RESCHEDULED – PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON ON THE NEW DATE.

Join UT Dallas Associate Professor of History, Dr. Ben Wright, for a lecture on American Christianity and the Fight Against Slavery. Christianity both inspired and limited the fight against American slavery. From the American Revolution to the Civil War, collisions between salvation and slavery created and nearly destroyed the American nation. This history and its legacy have much to teach us about how religion shapes American responses to injustice. Dr. Wright will be on hand afterward to sign copies of his book Bonds of Salvation: How Christianity Inspired and Limited American Abolitionism, which will be available for purchase.
