The Friends of Dallas Animal Services (DAS) directly supports the vital work of one of the largest municipal shelters in the nation. Dallas Animal Services serves tens of thousands of pets and even more people every year. Their life-saving and community-building work includes an unwavering commitment to public safety, providing community resources to help people keep their pets, and creating loving matches between companion dogs and cats and their adopters.

Friends of DAS helps fulfill urgent needs at the shelter as they arise and provides enrichment resources and services that help make the time dogs and cats spend at the shelter less stressful and more positive, increasing their quality of life and likelihood of adoption. Friends of DAS is especially focused on the critical Dallas90 initiative supporting DAS in reaching (and exceeding!) a 90% annual Live Release Rate for all healthy and behaviorally sound pets. Thanks to the support of the community and the financial assistance provided by Friends of DAS for its life-saving and innovative programming, DAS reached this impressive milestone for the first time in fiscal year 2020.
