This challenging time in history feels unprecedented. What will we do to meet this moment? Guided by our Unitarian Universalist theological tradition, our congregation has risen together, with love, again and again. We’ve risen with love when it comes to racial desegregation in Dallas, women’s rights and reproductive freedom, environmentalism, and LGBTQ rights, and we continue the work today.
We have proclaimed unconditional love – a love that does not require us to like everybody or to all agree, but which calls us to recognize that at the deepest level we share our being. We have proclaimed that each of us are made in the image of God, and that all are worthy of compassion and justice.
We have risen with love when our cherished values were under attack. We have risen with love when rights were being taken away. We have risen with love, despite our differences, to bring about the change that was needed. We have risen because we can do more together than any one of us can do alone.
Every morning we open ourselves to the possibility of a new day, deciding how we will live our faith here and now and how we will be in community. This is the moment we have been given. Let us take this moment and make it a movement.
All Rise For Love!
