Our First Sunday Giveback Is Returning!

We are pleased to announce the return of our First Sunday Giveback (formerly First Sunday Collection), and there are a few changes we’re excited to share with you.

As in the past, a worthy nonprofit organization making a difference in our wider community will be the recipient of all non-pledge donations on the first Sunday of the month. And now we will extend the impact of your generosity by also donating 50% of non-pledge Sunday donations for the remainder of the month to the organization.

First Church will continue to source nominations for nonprofits from our congregation, because so many of you have firsthand knowledge of who is doing good for others in our community that could benefit from our church’s support. While in the past, 10 of the annual recipients would have a two-year waiting period before being able to be selected again, our new guidelines will eliminate this two-year exclusion period and allow the Church to continue its relationship with the recipient on a year-to-year basis, if and when it’s a match for our current goals and mission. This new provision is balanced by a statement that the Giveback committee will endeavor to choose at least four new recipients each year.

Submit your nominations NOW for collections which will begin January 2023. Completed nomination forms will be accepted until May 31, 2023, for the July-December 2023 recipients. Nomination Form+CEO Certification can be found HERE, and the new guidelines HERE. If you have questions, please contact .
