Congratulations to congregant Susannah Garza, a recipient of the 2020 NTUUC Marty Robinson Award.

 

This Volunteer Award commemorates Susannah’s decade of contributions to the YRUU Youth Group of First Unitarian Church.

 

It’s been said that raising teenagers is like nailing jello to a tree, and Susannah Garza can be considered an expert at this task. Part of YRUU for more than fourteen years, she was an advisor for the last ten, “fiercely dedicated to her kids.” As part of that work she has shepherded teens through numerous pride parades, guided them as they put on their coffeehouse, accompanied them on service trips far and wide, and hosted an annual reunion for returning alumni
